Position Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description:
We are looking for Senior Site Reliability Engineers to join us and play a key role in the design, build and testing of our secure, robust and scalable web hosting platform. You’ll be working within a multi-disciplined team of engineers to agree and implement solutions through innovative and reliable technology. These roles offer the opportunity for someone to combine technical aptitude with a collaborative approach that continuously looks to help improve our platform through simplification and automation.
Responsibilities:
- Building systems that are designed to tolerate failure
- Ensuring all infrastructure is written as reusable code for future use
- Capacity planning
- Troubleshooting performance issues and working with application squads to continuously improve application performance and availability
- Optimization of our platform for maximum speed and scalability
- Implementation of secure access and security enhancements
Requirements:
- Is an experienced software engineer, with experience in both front and back end development in ideally 2 or more languages with one of java, javascript / typescript, python, or Ruby preferred
- Lead on the delivery of mid-to-large projects, managing task breakdown and taking responsibility for their decisions
- Experience in a variety of different technologies, projects and project types and feels comfortable applying themselves to new problem spaces
- Seeks to improve both the technical and non-technical aspects of the team, suggesting ways to improve both
- Has taken an active role in the development of graduate and professional systems engineers
- Will assume tasks from tech leads and promote expected behaviours in the team when necessary
- Continuously seeks out to develop their knowledge of new and changing industry trends
- Design solutions to system level problems, understanding any assumptions made and able to defend decisions professionally when challenged
