Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Analytical Scientist to join our Life Sciences Technology Development team within our state-of-the-art laboratories in Cambridge. In this role you would be responsible providing comprehensive analytical support to the team in the delivery of services to customers and in the development of complex organometallic catalysts for pharmaceutical, agrochemical, F&F and fine chemical customers, with particular focus on NMR spectroscopy.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and data analysis of analytical samples.
• Provide high calibre NMR expertise for routine and QC analysis, identification and quantification of impurities, definition of specifications, in-process analysis.
• Provide support in chromatographic analytical techniques (HPLC, UPLC, GC, MS method development, qualitative and quantitative analysis, specifications definition of intermediates and products.
• Develop LC/GC/SFC/NMR analytical methods for QC analysis of intermediates and products, as required.
• Write procedures and technical documentation, taking an active role in the promotion of quality and compliance.
• Ensure adequate maintenance of assigned analytical equipment, coordinating and supervising engineer visits.

Requirements:

• BSc or Equivalent in a Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent industrial experience)
• Extensive knowledge and experience of 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR with knowledge or experience of HPLC, GC, MS, SFC, polarimetry and KF is advantageous
• Strong trouble-shooting skills with an ability to implement innovative and practical solutions.
• Effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate technical information to a diverse audience
• Attention to detail and focus on quality with excellent analytical and verbal/written reporting and presentation skills
