Job Description

You will be based in our Lisbon, Madrid or Wroclaw office and be part of our Planetrics team. In March 2021, Vivid Economics and Planetrics became an integral part of McKinsey Sustainability, a client service platform with the goal of helping all industry sectors transform to get to net zero by 2050 and cut carbon emissions by half by 2030. By combining deep industry knowledge, advanced analytics, and proven change management approaches with specialized expertise in economics and sustainability, we help our clients achieve sustainable growth.

Responsibilities:

• You will work on our climate risks model, and will add new features and impact channels into our existing microeconomic models, develop new models with support from topic experts, and support the client delivery team in communicating model findings to our clients.
• In this role, your work will include maintaining Planetrics’ cost and competition model. You will play a significant role in model development (e.g. supply chain impacts). You will maintain other Planetrics’ value stream models (e.g. oil & gas) and develop new Planetrics’ models / model channels (e.g. invested climate risk impacts). Lastly, you will also be involved in data cleaning and extraction of Planetrics’ third party data sources, and client data related to projects.
• There is flexibility to hire as an analyst or senior analyst based on experience.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of econometrics / statistics, including exposure to practical applications
• Significant programming experience in R or Python
• Experience communicating findings to non-technical audiences
• Experience using GitHub
• Experience in finance and financial modelling, macroeconomic modelling experience, and/or knowledge of climate risk and energy a plus
