Job Description
Hi! We’re the BBC News digital team, and we’re responsible for the amazing News Service that is recognised by our audience in the UK and all across the world!
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and continually improve CRBA’s two Gateway sites: The ‘CRBA Reference Kit’ – providing team information, essential know-how and a resource repository for CRBA
- teams to use in their day to day work. The ‘Production Toolkit’ – providing commercial, business and rights tools and information for production teams across the BBC
- Represent CRBA’s web presence to the business.
- Produce short, eye catching CRBA content packages for CRBA recruitment via social media.
- Support the external facing CRBA web presence, such as the Contributors site at bbc.com/contributors,
- Produce content for and support regular CRBA All-Staff Webinars and events
- Be responsible for the product management of CRBA’s websites, liaising with key stakeholders and relevant teams in Design + Engineering (D+E)
- Manage the relationships with related site owners, e.g. News Copyright, Schedule of Royalties and Residuals (SORR)
Requirements:
- Extensive experience of online content design in particular content relating to business, process and systems information – ideally relating to rights, legal and business affairs.
- Experience of product managing significant, complex, compelling websites.
- A high-standard of editorial judgement and online copywriting and visual flair.
- Demonstrably strong attention to detail – ideally varied, from spotting typos and broken links to quality checking a large migration project.
- Ability to present technical and business information in a form accessible to non-experts.
- Ability to analyse information and processes to develop creative, common sense solutions.
- A skilled user of standard web tools and software packages and experience using a range of content management systems / web applications, including Photoshop, MS SharePoint, ftp transfer clients, Google Analytics, basic html. Experience of the BBC’s iSite 2/iPages and ATI Internet for analytics is a bonus.
- Ability to interpret in-house editorial style guides and tone of voice.
- Experience of managing stakeholders and ability to collaborate with a wide range of people (from technical and subject matter experts to standard Gateway user).
- Ability to seek, take on-board and incorporate user feedback into what you produce.
- Ability to manage own workload and priorities.
