Job Description

Hi! We’re the BBC News digital team, and we’re responsible for the amazing News Service that is recognised by our audience in the UK and all across the world!

Responsibilities:

• We use cloud-based technologies to handle live and on-demand content, and we support streaming to thousands of different devices, including PCs, phones, tablets, game consoles, smart speakers and smart TVs.

Requirements:

• You’ll enjoy working very closely with product managers, project managers, developers and stakeholders, understanding and shaping requirements, getting features ready for development.
• You will have strong data analysis skills, and the ability to specify what data to gather in order to guide the future direction of the team. Familiarity with one or more of Splunk,
• Cloudwatch Logs Insights or BigQuery would be an advantage.
• You’ll have an understanding of the relevant technologies and practices (e.g. cloud platforms, microservices, APIs), methodologies such as Agile / Scrum and software
• engineering processes and practices.
• You’ll be a strong team player (facilitating collaboration and teamwork) and focus on what the customer needs.
• You’ll be a fast learner, and able to pick up and reason about complex technologies.
