Welcome to Kentucky Fried Chicken. Our world-famous chicken restaurant brand all started with one cook, Colonel Harland Sanders, who created a finger-lickin’ good recipe more than 75 years ago, a list of secret herbs and spices scratched out on the back of the door to his kitchen. He started travelling by car to different restaurants and cooked his fried chicken on the spot for restaurant owners. He did this at the age of 65. If the owner liked the chicken, they would enter into a handshake agreement to sell the Colonel’s chicken. Legend has it that Colonel Sanders heard 1009 “No’s” before he heard his first yes. The Colonel’s story still inspires us today. It reminds us how grit, perseverance, dedication and ambition along with hard work can create success; regardless of your age or where you come from.

Responsibilities:

• The Responsibility & Reputation team – affectionately known as the R&R team, or the ‘R Unit’ – sits in the KFC Marketing team.
• The R&R team is responsible for shaping an environment in which the brand can thrive, and shaping the brand so it can thrive in that environment. It brings together public affairs, corporate reputation, sustainability, our social purpose, and the KFC Foundation, in a team of seven (soon to be eight!) led by our Chief Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Officer, Jenny Packwood.

Requirements:

• At least three to four years’ experience working in or around politics is essential, but that’s a broad category! That could include working in Parliament, for a political party, for a public affairs or communications agency, in an in-house corporate public affairs team, in the civil service or local government.
• Experience working with or around local government is welcome, but not essential
• Experience working in the food and drink industry is welcome, but not essential
