Job Description

Can you help tell the story of the BBC’s services for local and regional audiences and the great work the BBC does right across England, and do so using modern media techniques and tools? We’re looking for someone with a strong news sense and brilliant writing skills who can join our busy team to work on proactive publicity and reactive media handling for some of the BBC best-known services.

Requirements:

• Promoting and protecting the reputation of the BBC’s services for English audiences and the BBC’s wider activity across England
• Handling serious and sensitive media issues
• Will be expected to work across the BBC England Comms portfolio which also includes BBC Radio 5 Live
• Offering communications advice to a range of stakeholders
• Delivering creative PR campaigns

Experience

• We’re looking for a creative communications professional with a background in public relations and/or journalism – ideally both.
• The ideal candidate must be skilled at dealing with press issues, launching a campaign on social media, and writing corporate messages into copy.
