Job Description:

Under general direction, to administer, coordinate and supervise the digital initiatives and special projects spanning multiple library divisions including the Exploration HUB; the promotion and implementation of creative technologies and data/metrics initiatives; the ability to perform professional library work of considerable difficulty; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to community requests for information and represent the library in the community and at professional meetings as required. Provide a variety of staff assistance to the Library
• Director, Library Board of Trustees, Friends of the Library and others, such as the preparation of written reports and oral presentations, complex analysis regarding library service and personnel policies and similar work
• Strategic development and implementation of projects and initiatives involving internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinate activities with other city departments and divisions and with outside agencies as assigned
• Assign work, providing instructions and answering questions: coordinate the scheduling and completion of work by determining operational priorities and resolving workload problems; review work for accuracy and completeness: evaluate work techniques and methods for conformance to established standards
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Plan, organize and supervise the operations and services as assigned
• Implement and manage complex special projects and innovative initiatives including leading and coordinating cross-divisional project teams
• Gathers, prepares, interprets and presents quantitative and qualitative analytics and reports for use in strategic decision-making
• Develop and administer budget and contracts; evaluate and recommend staffing needs, equipment, materials and supplies
• As applicable, oversee the management of the library facility, including the supervision of staff who provide a full range of services to the public

• Principles and practices of library operations, procedures and resources
• Strategic management techniques and methodology
• Principles and practices of organization, administration, budgeting and personnel management in a municipal or government agency environment
• Research methods and techniques and methods of report presentation
• Creative technologies such as cross-platform game development technology, audio and video editing software, Raspberry Pi and Arduino and 3D design and printing
• Automated and integrated library technology and systems
• Analytic software such as Tableau or Blue Cloud Analytics
• Principles and practices of planning and directing professional library work
