Job Description:

We’re looking for someone who is interested in finance and accounting, and also would like to learn, or already knows, how to code and handle large amounts of data. You’ll need to be happy learning about some of the intricacies and detail involved firstly in the UK energy market and later in other countries too.

We think we want someone who is 1-3 years into their career in finance, possibly studying AAT/ CIMA/ ACCA, but if that isn’t you and you like the sound of this role then we’d still like to hear from you. And why do we mention coding? We use a lot of SQL and Python in our team – you don’t need to know how to program in these (or any) languages already but we do want someone to learn and use these tools on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

• Take part in investigation of variances between forecast and actual results shown by the pack
• Carry out monthly reconciliations of costs calculated compared to invoices received
• Carry out monthly sampling of data to check and audit the results of our margin calculations and then follow through with any findings from these checks to improve the accuracy of our calculations
• Liaise with the Billing teams in Operations and Tech to use the data we have available to improve our billing performance and so our cash collection and customer service
• Prepare weekly information pack showing current UK gross margin performance and later also for other countries we operate in
• Check cost of sales purchase invoices against the values we expect and take part in the automation of this process

Requirements:

• Huge passion for sustainability and renewable energy
• Experience working in accounting for at least 1+ year
