Our multidisciplinary squads work side-by-side with business strategists and experts from Cloud by McKinsey and QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey.

Responsibilities:

• You will be celebrated for your ability to build software while building clients’ digital talent, rather than orchestrating multi-year implementation roadmaps for third-party system integrated vendors to configure third-party eCommerce platform software. You will work heavily with open-source tools, including making visible contributions to open-source projects in the eCommerce ecosystem.
• You will help assess the current state of our clients ‘ecommerce architecture and bring your knowledge of eCommerce architecture best practices to recommend future state systems and capabilities. You will collaborate with product owners, designers, and marketers to define requirements and refine them with the software engineering team. You will lead joint McKinsey-client teams to build eCommerce experiences and platforms as the day-to-day technical delivery lead as well as helping non-technical stakeholders understand eCommerce technology in strategy discussions.

Requirements:

• You bring deep expertise in your domain, including up-to-date knowledge of JavaScript development utilizing such frameworks as React, Angular, NextJS, and Node.js, container technology CI/CD best practices and working with Cloud tech and providers
• Expertise in eCommerce solution architecture, including the typical capabilities and integrations of common backend systems (e.g., PIM, OMS, WMS, TMS, etc.)
• Expertise in eCommerce technology trends, such as benefits of headless architecture and familiarity with emerging “composable commerce” or headless commerce vendors
• Familiarity with digital marketing capabilities (e.g., A/B testing, personalization, segmentation, campaign management, etc.) and with MarTech tools and integrations that provide these capabilities (e.g., DMP, CDP, CMP, CRM, etc.)
• You enjoy working with cross-functional teams of developers, designers, marketers, and product/business profiles to deliver eCommerce solutions
• Experienced in making trade-offs in software and able to identify best fit for business needs
• Comfortable with presenting to senior executives from technical and non-technical backgrounds in English
• Comfortable leading technical teams across the Full-stack in the eCommerce domain, including UI design and development, API development and management, cloud infrastructure, payments, and master data management
