The Data and Data Strategy department provides important services to the rest of the business by managing data collections and ensuring that we have appropriate data governance in place. The data we collect is essential to ensuring the FCA can regulate firms effectively and protecting consumers from harm. You’ll be joining a growing team with an ambitious and exciting roadmap, in a role with real opportunity to deliver the FCA’s Strategy to become a data-led regulator.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of associates and analysts to run the late fee process. This will include automating the process as far as possible, including handoffs between internal teams such as Enforcement, Finance, Supervision Hub and the Complaints Team
• Manage a team and take decisions on requests to waive fees and manage queries. Respond to local area complaints as well as supporting investigations on formal late fee complaints
• Lead a review of the end-to-end process driving efficiency savings through automation
• Develop returns compliance as a function that can drive improved insight on firm behaviour
• Create returns compliance intelligence for Enforcement to support prioritisation
• Responsible for creating and maintaining excellent working relationships with Supervision Hub, Enforcement, Finance and the Complaints Team
• Track volumes, predict future volumes and analyse operational impacts, taking decisions through relevant governance such as ExCo where necessary
• Represent Data Returns Compliance on late returns in cross-divisional projects such as Use It or Lose It, cancellations and register improvements working in partnership with other teams where they are considering new collections that have operational implications or require insight into firm issues with reporting e.g. problem firms
• Provide coaching and training for direct reports and teams that have a need to understand the late returns process
• Provide advice to any new data collections at Information Governance Board that will impact late fees
• Support the Head of Department on periodic financial business planning

Requirements:

• The candidate will enable the FCA to obtain the data it needs in order to regulate effectively.
• The candidate will have on-going access to training.
• The FCA has embraced hybrid working and is in the office 40% over a month
